As I sit writing this, the first thing that strikes me is "why"? Why am I getting myself into this blogging business when I have never had the urge to do something like this in the past.
The answer I am afraid is not at all dramatic. Its vacation time and I have nothing worthwhile to do, period. To be honest, I've wanted to blog since the time I came to know what a blog was. But the one question that has haunted me has been been, "What do I write about"?
I am no philosopher - life and death, love and hatred and a myriad of other complex emotions are too knotty for me to scribble about.
Poetry is definately not my cup of tea. I have a hard time remembering Keats from Kipling and anything that talks of stuff beyond twinking stars seems latin to me.
Arts are a big no-no. I've always wondered, how can pictures that depict deformed men and women cause the billionare's to empty their pockets? A women with a single breast, a man with two heads!! I can almost hear Monet vying for my blood from his grave.
For a man with 2 left feet and 2 left hands writing about dance is futile.
"Rock" is a stone for me whereas "blues" is something synonymous with mondays. I guess, Monet has company!!
Then, why in gods name am I wasting your time and more importantly mine? Well as I've already said, I have nothing better to do and if you are still reading this then you too are not deluged with work so read on.
I finally realised that it is fruitless to wait for something that forces me to place my butt on the chair and start typing so without further ado, I've decided to write about anything and everything that causes me to sit up and take notice and if anyone finds this crazy - balls to them!!
I love the people who have managed to read the entire piece and please - please, do check this space in a few days for my first blog on something more substantial and pardon me for this purile name. I will try to come up with something better soon.
